Helle Lyshøj
visual artist and video designer
Helle Lyshøj graduated as a visual artist at Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1999 and has since worked with video design and video scenography for dance, theater, opera and performances.
On stage her videos function as performers and add an extra layer of staged reality. She masters various techniques such as animation, morphing and live video on stage. A characteristic of her stage work is the interaction between video and live performance.
She creates video design and video scenography for dance, theatre, opera, and performances as well as short documentaries on performances and stage works. In Denmark she collaborates with LiminalDK, Aaben Dans Productions and Forsøgsstationen/The Lab Station among others.
In the Netherlands she collaborates with choreographer Susanne Marx/stichting VET and Nicole Beutler/NBprojects among others. Co-founder of Videomachas with Susanna Brenner, a collaboration which provides artistic video solutions since 2005.
